Fullerton Names Jeff Collier as Acting City Manager

Recruitment for permanent City manager underway

Fullerton, Calif.- The Fullerton City Council has recommended Jeff Collier to serve as Acting City Manager upon Steve Danley's departure and until a permanent replacement is selected. The Fullerton City Council wishes to thank Mr. Danley for his service to the city during his interim assignment.

"We are grateful to Mr. Danley for leading our community over the last several months," says Mayor Jung. "His experience and knowledge kept Fullerton steady during this time of transition. We congratulate and wish him all the best."

The City Council approved Mr. Collier's appointment during the Tuesday, December 21 regularly scheduled City Council meeting.

In addition to having served as Whittier City Manager for eight years before retirement, Mr. Collier has nearly 40 years of local government experience, including 18 years as a department director overseeing Community Development, Economic Development, and Public Works. Mr. Collier has also previously served the cities of Chino Hills, West Covina, Glendora, and Claremont.

"I'm honored to be asked to serve the City Council and the residents of Fullerton as Acting City Manager," said Mr. Collier. "Fullerton is a wonderful community with a long history. I look forward to assisting the Council and staff in moving Fullerton forward during the process of transitioning to a new City Manager in 2022."

Mr. Collier holds a Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional Planning from Cal Poly Pomona and a Master of Public Administration degree from Cal State Fullerton. Mr. Collier will assume his new role as Acting City Manager on December 25, 2021.

The recruitment for a permanent City Manager is still underway.
